Modern Versions of Former Human Horrors
From conscription to disappearing people, the history of horrors is redundant.
ICE transports people who lived in the US back to their country of birth origin to face terrible futures. We are already aware of this, and it’s in the grab bag of impossible things which have recently occurred. What more do we need to know to fuel sufficient outrage to get the masses to put an end to it?
Perhaps knowledge. We have seen this before. If we can study the historical precedents, it could galvanize the collective outrage and fuel a reform. I’m writing this to explore how counterparts in the past may help frame the moral perspective we need, so we can learn how to undo and redo. Of course, this requires effort.
